These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and App Dev Contracting Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, “our”), covering the SideHero mobile app for iOS and Android, our website, and any subscription you buy through them (together, “SideHero” or “the Service”).
By downloading, accessing or using SideHero, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. These Terms also serve as the end user licence agreement (EULA) for the app.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country, if higher) to use SideHero, and you must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may only use SideHero with the consent of a parent or guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms. SideHero is not directed to children.
Creating an account requires an email address and a password, or sign-in with Google where that option is offered. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@sidehero.ai if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. You may delete your account at any time using the Delete Account button in the app's Settings screen, or by emailing us from the address on your account.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use one copy of the SideHero app on devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the usage rules of the app store you installed it from. We reserve all rights not expressly granted.
You may not: copy, modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the app except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it; rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or redistribute the app; remove or obscure any proprietary notices; use the Service to build a competing product, or to train a machine learning model; use automated means to access the Service, scrape it, or circumvent usage limits, rate limits or entitlement checks.
You agree not to use SideHero to: break any law; harass, abuse or harm anyone; upload or generate content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes someone else's rights; attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account; or interfere with the integrity or performance of the Service. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach this section.
You keep ownership of the goals, messages, notes and other content you enter into SideHero (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, transmit, reproduce and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you — including sending the relevant parts to our AI model providers so they can generate your plans, reminders and coaching replies. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups or as required by law.
You are responsible for Your Content and confirm that you have the right to submit it. Please do not enter payment card details, passwords, government identifiers, or information belonging to other people, and avoid sharing details you would not want processed by an AI service. How we handle your information is described in our Privacy Policy.
SideHero uses third-party large language models to generate plans, habits, newsletters and coaching replies. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your circumstances, and similar output may be generated for other users.
SideHero is a general motivational and organisational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical, psychological, mental health, legal, financial or other professional advice. It is not a substitute for a qualified professional and must not be relied on as one. Never disregard or delay professional advice because of something SideHero told you. SideHero is not a crisis service — if you are in crisis or may be at risk of harming yourself or others, contact your local emergency number or a crisis helpline immediately.
You are solely responsible for the decisions you make and the actions you take based on the Service, and for the consequences of following any plan it generates.
SideHero offers auto-renewable subscriptions that unlock premium features and higher usage allowances. The following terms apply to all subscriptions.
Fair use: to keep the Service sustainable, premium plans include a generous but finite allowance of AI usage. We may apply reasonable rate limits and, in cases of abuse or automated use, restrict or suspend access.
We are actively developing SideHero and may add, change, suspend or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces the core functionality of a paid subscription you have already bought, you may cancel and request a pro-rata refund for the unused period through Apple or Google.
You may stop using SideHero at any time by deleting your account and uninstalling the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. On termination, the licence in section 3 ends and we will delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Sections 5, 6 and 10 to 14 survive termination.
SideHero, including the app, its design, text, graphics, prompts and underlying software, is owned by App Dev Contracting Ltd and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. The SideHero name and logo are our trademarks. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service to you.
SideHero relies on third-party services, including app store billing (Apple, Google Play), authentication (Clerk), subscription management (RevenueCat), AI model providers, and optional coach tools such as a weather service and web search. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content or availability. Links or content surfaced by the coach from the web are not endorsed by us.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free, that AI output will be accurate or suitable, or that using SideHero will produce any particular result or outcome for your goals.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for SideHero in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) GBP 50.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these Terms do not affect.
If you use SideHero other than as a consumer, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless App Dev Contracting Ltd and its officers and contractors from any claims, damages and reasonable legal costs arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.
The following applies to the app downloaded from the Apple App Store, and is required by Apple:
Where Apple's Standard End User Licence Agreement applies to your download, these Terms supplement it; in the event of a direct conflict on licence scope, Apple's standard EULA prevails for the App Store version of the app.
For the app downloaded from Google Play, these Terms are between you and App Dev Contracting Ltd only, not with Google. Google is not responsible for the app or its content, and your use is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer protections and the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, give more prominent notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use SideHero after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and cancel any subscription.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer these Terms; we may transfer them to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
